Three others are Rani Khatun, Abdur Razzaque and Akkas Ali Mollah. Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal gave the order. Police arrested Akhi, Khatun, Razzaque, and the microbus driver 'Shahin', on November 2 with sophisticated weapons that included an AK-47 rifle, a shotgun and 82 rounds of ammunition. After the four arrests, police in the following day made a further arrest, Akkas of Dangmarka village in Daulatpur Upazila. A case was filed against all five on November 3 under the Arms Act. 'Shahin' was acquitted for insufficient evidence against him. Akhi was a former commissioner of Kushtia municipality's Ward No 8. When arrested she was the secretary of "one faction" of Kushtia town's Mahila Awami League committee. Police then claimed that Akhi and her associates were members of a banned extremist organisation, Gono Mukti Fouz. Akhi was also previously been implicated in the murder of a local Jubo League leader, Jamirul Islam Jamu. Akkas during questioning reportedly told police that the arms recovered from the microbus had belonged to extremist leader Biplob Hossain, of Kalishankarpur, who was killed on Sept 13 in a shootout with law enforcers. Before his death, he reportedly kept the arms hidden in the ground near his house. Akkas was quoted by police as saying "in case of any danger, the arms were to be given to Kushtia Mahila Awami League leader Taslima Khan Akhi." bdnews24.com/corr/pks/am/2133h
