A factional clash of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) unit of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday left two activists injured and a campus hall vandalised.

Campus sources said Bashir, BCL activist of Maulana Bhasani Hall, and a former student of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall locked in an altercation over submitting application form.

As a sequel, some BCL activists of Bangabandhu hall beat up Bashir.

Later at Meher Chattar, a clash between the two factions left Faisal Ahmed Shakil, another BCL activist of Bhasani hall, injured.

Hearing the news, another group of BCL activists went to the Bangabandhu hall and broke down some windows.

On information, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shariff Enamul Kabir, JU Proctor Prof Dr Arzu Miah and BCL leaders brought the situation under control.

The proctor said the situation is under control now and that additional police were deployed on the campus to avoid any untoward incident.
